VIDEO: Our Response to Hollywood Cheering Abortion is ALIVE 2020

I suspect few of you tuned into this weekend’s Golden Globes award show, but many may have heard about one of the more callous moments of the program when actress Michelle Williams stepped up to the microphone to accept her trophy.

Beaming, she proudly suggested the only reason she was receiving the award was because she had aborted her baby that would have otherwise derailed her career.

“I’m … grateful to have lived in a moment in our society where choice exists. Because as women and as girls things can happen to our bodies that are not our choice,” she said. “And I wouldn’t have been able to do this without employing a woman’s right to choose. To choose when to have my children and with whom, when I felt supported and able to balance our lives knowing, as all mothers know, that the scales must and will tip toward our children. I know my choices might look different than yours but thank god or whomever you pray to, that we live in a country founded on the principle that I am free to live by my faith and you are free to live by yours.”

The gruesome coldness of her words coupled with the applause that filled the arena reminded me of the cheering New York state legislators who celebrated the expansion of abortion rights in the Empire State last January. The state’s passage of the Reproductive Health Act legalized late-term abortions until the moment of birth.

In fact, it was that display – along with Virginia Governor Ralph Northam’s wretched, clinical endorsement of infanticide – that propelled us to plan New York City’s largest pro-life event this past May.

And it’s this continuous assault on pre-born life that’s led us to build upon last year’s success and announce ALIVE 2020 – our five-city celebration of life event scheduled for Saturday, May 9th.

Hollywood may cheer the right to murder an innocent baby, but more and more people are growing uncomfortable with the taking of preborn life – especially when they see the 4D images of babies inside their mothers’ wombs.

So, if you haven’t done so already, I hope you’ll mark May 9th down on your calendar and save the date.

We’ll be in five cities on that day and we’ll be hosting inspirational, well-known speakers; top musical talent – and live ultrasounds of third-trimester babies.

The five cities are: Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Miami and Southern California.

During a recent trip to New York City, I had the opportunity to walk through Times Square and recall that poignant afternoon last May when the city fell silent and the heartbeat of little Fulton echoed between the tall skyscrapers. We caught some of that afternoon on camera.

I invite you to watch this video and please consider sharing it with a friend. We’re eager to spread the word and encourage tens of thousands of people to join us in May as we support and celebrate life!
